Beacon at Home is a service which has been developed in response to what our participants and their families have told us they need.
- Family carers sometimes need a break to get jobs done, or to take some time for themselves to benefit their wellbeing
- Participants may become less mobile and are no longer able to come to our Shed or activity Groups, but still want to engage in meaningful activities
- Participants may be isolated and a visit from a team member may help to combat loneliness
- Participants may want to join our activities, but may find a group situation overwhelming
The Beacon at Home service aims to build a trusting relationship through providing a series of one-to-one sessions, usually delivered in the participant's home. These sessions are structured and tailored to each individual's interests and over time, aim to build rapport and increase wellbeing. Sessions are up to two hours long, and the number required will be determined by the person's needs.
