Wellbeing

Wellbeing can be described as the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy. This can include our physical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. We are all unique so wellbeing will mean different things to us all.

Good wellbeing doesn't mean you're always happy and healthy or unaffected by your experiences. However, poor wellbeing can contribute to us finding it more difficult to cope with daily life.

Our wellbeing group 'Knits at Fitz' are always busy and have created yarn bombing displays for the Coronation of King Charles, Civic Pride Rossendale’s National entry into the RHS Britain in Bloom, displays for the 35th Anniversary of the Rossendale Hospice and poppies for the annual Remembrance Day display.

Members also contribute items to other charitable causes, such as knitted hearts for hospitals, trauma teddies, scarves for the homeless and baby hats for the Royal Oldham hospital.

Crafters of any ability are always welcome, as are beginners who would like to try out knitting or crochet. You can bring along your own project, or come along and help with ours!

Review of Knits at Fitz

I'm on my last pattern round of my Yuletide blanket before I do the border. I have learnt so much over the few years that I've been coming to knits at Fitz. I can't believe I have only been crocheting for 12 months, massive thanks to Janet O'Driscoll for your patience and support. I really couldn't have done it without you!

Also I have to thank each and every one of you for your love and support to everyone in the group. I am so very glad that I found you, and the other wonderful ladies that have joined us over the last few years. I look forward to seeing you all on a Wednesday afternoon, it's the highlight of my week sometimes. The laughter we share every week is just brilliant, how we haven't been thrown out is beyond me as we can get rather loud.

Most topics are talked about, whether it's health, clothing, food or god forbid, politics. We all have a voice and can express our view and listen to the views of others.

Sometimes days are hard with pain and I know I'm not the only that struggles.

I just want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my big heart. I'm happy I found you. Hugs (air) to you all!
